The yellows of fall are my absolute FAVORITE!! 2 years ago I stumbled upon Goldrenrod(Solidago) growing wild in our backyard along the field line. Captured photos of my middle child running through it sporting a yellow outfit- how fitting. I fell in love right then and there. This native plant grows with purpose!
Commonly mistaken as Ragweed- goldenrod is a tall yellow flowering plant! Herbaceous perennial plant with bright yellow daisy-like clustered flowers in a cone/triangle formation. Stems can grow up to several feet tall and the leaves alternate on either side!
Provide food for the fall pollinators and growing with mighty intention! I dry it for tea as well as use in my skincare!
Pretty soon I will be making up some salves from it!
Beneficial Properties: -Soothes Inflammation/Irritation-Supports Healing-Protects against Damage-Balances Oily Skin- Inhibits Fungal Growth!
Have you spotted this yellow sign of fall??
Remeber if harvesting- leave some for the pollinators and make sure you are away from pollutions!! Happy Foraging!
